What is Vitamin B? Vitamin B comes as a family of complex vitamins. For instance, there is Vitamin B Complex, B1, B2, B3, B12, B15, B6, and so on. What is Vitamin B responsible for? The various Vitamin B’s are responsible for various things. Some of the B vitamins are responsible for metabolizing proteins and carbohydrates. One of the roles Vitamin B plays is in the neutralization of free radicals which cause us to age prematurely. Another role Vitamin B plays is that it increases blood circulation and tissue repair. Mother Nature designed food with healing properties. All foods in their original states have healing properties. Once corporations decided to prey on the vulnerability and laziness of the people, they began touting the health benefits of taking vitamin supplements. The vitamin advertising agencies are a billion dollar a year conglomerate.

So who suffers from Vitamin B Deficiency? Older people suffer from Vitamin B deficiency and more commonly, vegetarians suffer from Vitamin B deficiency simply because foods that contain Vitamin B12 include meat, eggs, and dairy products all foods vegetarians avoid. Vitamin B12 is not found in plant foods, which makes it even more common that vegetarians suffer from Vitamin B deficiency.
The solution, however, is not to be found in supplements. A supplement can never take the place of what Mother Nature has provided us. All foods have healing properties. The foods to definitely avoid are refined sugars, highly processed foods (i.e., bologna, cheese, etc.), artificial sweeteners, coffee and all caffeine products.
