Symptoms of Poisoning Including Food, Sun, Alcohol and Lead Poisoning

Symptom of Poisoning, Food: Food poisoning happens when an individual consumes food that is tainted with a virus or bacteria, chemicals or sometimes toxins. Symptoms of this type of poisoning can include vomiting, nausea, fever, chills, diarrhea and dizziness. There are various types of food poisoning, some more severe than others. For example, one type that is often obtained from eating raw chicken or eggs is called food poisoning salmonella. This condition can be serious, depending on the amount and strength of the food borne illness consumed. Doctors treat these illnesses through adding additional fluids to the diet and in some cases medication. Another type of food poisoning is mercury poisoning, such as consuming foods such as some fish on a large scale that have large amounts of mercury in them.
Symptoms of Poisoning, Sun: Sun poisoning is very serious since it can lead to a variety of complications over time, especially if it happens regularly. Sun poisoning is very similar to sunburns. In both conditions, the proper term is photodermatitis, which is an allergic reaction by the skin to the sun’s rays. Usually, this only happens when there is a overexposure to sun. Sun poisoning is more severe than sun burns, though. Symptoms include nausea, fevers, dizziness, and headaches. You may also have small blisters that can lead to a variety of infections. Often, doctors will treat the condition with medications and fluid treatment.
Symptoms of Poisoning, Alcohol: Some types of poison are caused by the consumption of chemicals and toxins. Alcohol poisoning is one example of this. When too much alcohol is taken in by the body, it is unable to absorb the alcohol. This will cause a direct problem with your central nervous system. Your heart rate drops, your breathing slows. You can choke or fall into coma. In some cases, you can even die suddenly from alcohol poisoning. Symptoms including confusion, vomiting, seizures, slow breathing and a blue tint to the skin. Your body temperature may drop and you may pass out. There are other conditions that can have similar symptoms of poisoning. Carbon Monoxide poisoning, for example, can have many of the same symptoms. Additionally, if you have consumed the toxin arsenic, you may go through similar symptoms. Each of these is a chemical or a toxin poisoning and they are very serious, often life threatening conditions that require immediate medical attention.
Symptom of Poisoning, Lead: Another type of poisoning in the body can develop over a long time, often with regular exposure to the chemical or toxin that is infecting your body. For example, you may have some of the symptoms of poisoning attributed to lead. Lead used to be used in a variety of situations, including in gasoline, paints and water pipes. The trace amounts of lead from these items could be consumed and over time, the level of lead in your blood can lead to very high, toxic levels. This can cause serious illness and if left untreated (often because it is not expected) it can lead to serious health problems, poor school performance and even a lower intelligence level.
