Sun Poisoning Symptom, Medication, Treatment, and Mental Picture

Sun Poisoning Symptom:  Many people do not realize they have sun poisoning until they notice a symptom appear.  One sign of sun poisoning is a rash.  When someone has been exposed to the sun for long periods of time, they might end up with a rash, which will then show them they likely have sun poisoning.  That is only one symptom of sun poisoning.  Other symptoms are small blisters, fatigue, dizziness and fever.  When someone has these symptoms and they have been exposed to a great deal of sun, they likely have sun poisoning.  Sun poisoning means different things for different people.  Some people only have a small amount of sun poisoning.  Those are the people that were not exposed to a great deal of sunlight.  Others have severe cases of sun poisoning that can end up being dangerous.  When someone has sun poisoning, they need to evaluate the degree of the sun poisoning so they can then get the help they need.

It is more than just a picture of a sunburn.  Sun poisoning is actually harsher than a standard sunburn.   If your skin looks like the skin in a picture of a sun poisoning victim, you likely need treatment.
Sun Poisoning Treatment:  While there is not a cure for sun poisoning, you will have treatment options if you become affected.  In most cases, you will need to simply apply a wet compress to your affected areas.  For example, you will want to put a cold compress on a rash or blistered area that was caused by sun poisoning.  A cool bath can also help.  When a bath is taken to relieve the symptoms of sun poisoning, calamine lotion can be applied after the bath so the skin can be soothed even more.  In many cases, this will make the skin feel much better and further treatment will not be needed.
Sun Poisoning Medication:  There are cases of sun poisoning that are severe, and when that is the case, medication may be needed.  In some cases, an antihistamine will relieve the symptoms.  In other cases, though, the help of a dermatologist might be needed.  He will assess the problem and decide how to treat the sun poisoning.  If there are open wounds accompanying the sun poisoning, he might prescribe and antibiotic.  For some people, the sun poisoning will not actually heal until they seek the help of a dermatologist.  When that is the case, they should not hesitate to make an appointment.  The health of their skin could very well depend on outside treatment, and thus, they want to make sure they get that treatment.
